This is tragic.

Unless this little terrorist comes under control he will spend his life in Prison and we don't need more of that. This is also why so many young kids are followed around the store. Who is going to make right by this shopkeeper?
It lasted over three minutes and din't end until a bystander got fed up and decided to step in. That's the scene that unfolded in a YouTube video going wild on the...

A little Prediction Fun.

The conservatives at National Review Online have pooled their respective ideas for 2015. Some serious, most not. Like asking the question if Elizabeth Warren (Aka Pocahontas) will throw her headdress into the ring for President. By the way, Yours truly has been quoted in the NRO. Not lately, but did. Don't be impressed, it was a fluke. I wrote something clever and they quoted it. Now and then a blind sow finds an acorn. The most amusing of the 20 or so predictions is this from Dennis Prager.. a clever man himself:

Dennis Prager
  • More and more universities will officially sponsor a “Sex Week” on campus — and then declare that their university is in the grip of a “Rape Culture.”
  • After a violent incident between Mexican police and Guatemalans seeking to enter Mexico illegally, the United Nations will condemn Israel.
  • Anti-smoking groups will announce that studies now show that third-hand smoke kills.
  • In Massachusetts, fans who boo opposing teams will be evicted for creating a hostile work environment.
  • In New York State, it will be illegal for parents to impose a gender identity on their newborn children.
  • At Columbia University, males will be required to receive written consent prior to engaging in physical contact with a female. The permission will have to be notarized, and the notary will have to be a female, preferably transgendered.
  • Sometime in October, President Obama will give his first address since becoming president in which he does not invoke straw men.
  • Sony Films will announce that the only villains henceforth permitted in its films will be American businessmen and Christian clergy.

My Green Friends

We have a small greenhouse attached to our house just off the kitchen and on Year's Day it is in full bloom thought you would like to see. I know the song which goes "- man it feels good to be a gangster" but for me it goes "man it feels good to be a gardener"

Last Call

As we start 2015, one more time I offer up a peek into what I believe the Lord is saying for the year to come. You can judge if it as good or not. I have received feedback from several countries that they are seeing this as well. From Brazil just this morning.

Here is is on the Prophet Gene Blog.. http://prophetgene.blogspot.com/…/word-of-lord-for-2015.html
If you really want to be a judge of the last decade of prophetic words brought by yours truly, you can go back in time to the turn of 2005-6 and see how much of the last several years has come to pass. It might surprise you.

Those ten years are on my "Word of the Lord" blog: http://homehomes.blogspot.com/
A warning, I am loquacious (verbose) so scan thru.. I know that brevity is the soul of wit... but then Isaiah is 66 chapters long. Sooooo

I despise the judgmental phrase "You're better than that".

There is an imposed expectation behind all that. One that none of us can never live up to... Other than Jesus. In myself I am not better.

Midwest Ruled.. Big Ten Wisconsin, Michigan State, Ohio.

I guess there is such a thing as underdogs winning. The SEC has been the top dogs so long they have a hard time looking up. Tide Didn't Roll, War Eagle defletched, Seminoles scalped. Sometimes it's good to be a gansta. Now if we can just get that team from Nebraska to step up .. we might have a league. LOL

NDSU Bison Versus Illinois State (Normal) Redbirds FCS Championship.

Illinois State is the oldest public university in the state of Illinois. Even though I live in IL, I will root for the Bison. Everyone in our family went to school there "almost". I will watch it Saturday PM from Orlando FL. Tune in at 2PM eastern if you are so inclined. It will be a good game but Prophet Gene already knows the outcome. Bison win.
Thousands of ‪#‎NDSU‬ fans will be in Frisco, Texas, one week from today gearing up for the Division I ‪#‎FCS‬ national title game. What are your plans?

I know how to be Holy and Discontent at the same time. Never settling.

HOLY DISCONTENTMENT
Some have viewed discontentment as a curse, but there is a discontentment that is actually a blessing - a gift, because it is the precursor to change.
A holy discontentment actually can be the beginning step to launch one on their journey of change. It can help get them unstuck from the status quo, and begin to propel an individual closer toward their vision and destiny.
God also will stir this in His church in times and seasons of change where it is imperative for the church to move forward, or take the chance of losing ground, and possibly a generation.
Lord, we will not allow ourselves to be stuck - stir us from status quo complacency with a holy frustration and discontentment that will launch us to pursue and find the next level in You.

Word of the Lord for 2015

As I do every year, I lean in to hear what the Lord is Saying for the year to come.  Sometimes it is detailed.  Sometimes in riddles.  He gives us what we need to hear.  He prepares us thru the prophetic. Our hearts are more ready for a word at junctions and pivot points like the turn of a year.

A few years ago the Lord told me that 2015 would be a turn around year for the Body of Christ and the USA.  Yet there is a global backdrop that needs to be understood.

You can read the whole thing Here or Here

There is no going home again, Thomas Wolfe was right

Our real home is in God, not a physical place. There is beauty everywhere but if you want to find satisfaction in beauty or place, you won't.

“From p. 40 of Signet Edition of Thomas Wolfe's _You Can't Go Home Again_ (1940):

Some things will never change. Some things will always be the same. Lean down your ear upon the earth and listen.

The voice of forest water in the night, a woman's laughter in the dark, the clean, hard rattle of raked gravel, the cricketing stitch of midday in hot meadows, the delicate web of children's voices in bright air--these things will never change.

The glitter of sunlight on roughened water, the glory of the stars, the innocence of morning, the smell of the sea in harbors, the feathery blur and smoky buddings of young boughs, and something there that comes and goes and never can be captured, the thorn of spring, the sharp and tongueless cry--these things will always be the same.

All things belonging to the earth will never change--the leaf, the blade, the flower, the wind that cries and sleeps and wakes again, the trees whose stiff arms clash and tremble in the dark, and the dust of lovers long since buried in the earth--all things proceeding from the earth to seasons, all things that lapse and change and come again upon the earth--these things will always be the same, for they come up from the earth that never changes, they go back into the earth that lasts forever. Only the earth endures, but it endures forever.

The tarantula, the adder, and the asp will also never change. Pain and death will always be the same. But under the pavements trembling like a pulse, under the buildings trembling like a cry, under the waste of time, under the hoof of the beast above the broken bones of cities, there will be something growing like a flower, something bursting from the earth again, forever deathless, faithful, coming into life again like April.”
― Thomas Wolfe, You Can't Go Home Again

This is disturbing,

written by a liberal lawyer from a large American City fighting for the rights of Black men and women in the legal arena. While I don't agree with much of it from my observations of the people I know, what he says as painful as it is says much regarding the state of racial division that exists and the overwhelmingly black population in our prisons.
This article will no doubt inflame many, but it must be read.

Two Things about President Obama you haven't seen yet, but will.

People will start to like him. People you don't expect. He will cooperate with the new congress much more than you think. AND he will therefore redeem his legacy better than you will imagine. No matter your (or my) opinion of him, he is going to try to finish well, that means abandoning all else no matter what.
